Sensibilidad a la violencia en adolescentes mexicanos: el rol de la exposición a la violencia y el cinismo legal

Resumen
Este trabajo evalúa el impacto de la exposición a la violencia y el cinismo legal en la sensibilidad a la violencia de adolescentes en México. El estudio tiene un diseño cuantitativo y transversal y utiliza datos del ISRD-4 en México. La muestra está compuesta por 2534 adolescentes de 12 a 19 años. Se estima un modelo multinivel, para evaluar los efectos individuales y contextuales, donde el nivel agregado corresponde a los grupos escolares de los estudiantes. Los resultados no permiten confirmar que la exposición a la violencia en el ámbito escolar y en el vecindario afecte a la sensibilidad a la violencia. Sin embargo, haber sufrido victimización, y en específico, violencia parental la incrementan, mientras que el cinismo legal, tanto a nivel individual como agregado, la reduce. Estos hallazgos se discuten en el marco de la teoría de la acción situacional y sus implicaciones para el diseño de políticas públicas de prevención de la violencia y fortalecimiento del vínculo entre ciudadanía y sistema de justicia.
