La percepción de depolicing en los mandos de la policía catalana

Resumen

Este estudio explora las percepciones de los mandos de la Policía de Cataluña –Policía Local y Mossos d’Esquadra— sobre el “depolicing” en sus agentes, es decir, sobre las actitudes y conductas de retraimiento y evitación de determinadas situaciones e interacciones que se consideran comprometedoras o peligrosas. Como objetivo, este estudio pretende establecer hasta qué punto consideran que en sus respectivas organizaciones hay depolicing y qué factores modulan dichas percepciones. El estudio se basa en las respuestas de 426 mandos policiales a un cuestionario. Los datos se analizaron mediante descriptores básicos y se modelizaron aplicando una regresión múltiple. Una parte significativa de los mandos que contestaron el cuestionario, el 18 %, consideraban que, efectivamente, había depolicing entre sus agentes. Al igual que en contextos tan diferentes como el norteamericano, los resultados obtenidos indican una relación estadísticamente significativa entre la percepción de depolicing y las percepciones de autolegitimidad (negativa) y de conflictividad en el entorno (positiva). Asimismo, los resultados pusieron de manifiesto que los mandos que dirigían unidades cuyos agentes tenían un contacto más inmediato y frecuente con la ciudadanía tendían a informar menor percepción de depolicing.
